We provide all transportation needed during your participation in the cooking
classes. Each Bali cooking class will start with a local market tour to buy our
ingredients. Your guide on these tours provides you with
information about buying on markets, and you will learn to
bargain, the Bali way. You will see the real Bali on your visit
of the local markets with their rich colors and many smells. Bali is a land of
contrasts. There is male and female, good and evil, gods and spirits, day and
night, north and south.

Just so, there is food for every day and festival food intended
for the gods. Regular daily food is based on rice, and there are
three or four main varieties of rice in Bali - red, white and
black, glutinous and non-glutinous, Balinese and Javanese.
Dishes are served with a range of spicy side dishes including
vegetables, a small amount of meat or fish and a variety of
condiments. Usually some crispy toppings such as deep fried
shallots are scattered over the top of the food.
